There's nothing quite like a dog discovering water for the first time. Beyond the fun, swimming is one of the best forms of exercise a dog can get — but a few basics keep it safe and enjoyable.
Why swimming is so good for dogs
Water supports a dog's weight, so swimming builds fitness and burns energy without the impact that running puts on joints. That makes it ideal for high-energy dogs, dogs recovering from injury, and older dogs who need gentle movement.
Not every dog is a natural swimmer
Some breeds take to water instantly; others need to build confidence, and a few really shouldn't swim unsupervised at all. The key is never to force it — a calm, gradual introduction beats throwing a dog in every time.
How we keep it safe
- Constant staff supervision — no dog swims alone
- Salt-disinfected, chlorine-free water that's gentler on eyes and skin
- Gradual introductions that build confidence at the dog's pace
- Fresh drinking water and shaded rest areas alongside
Our dogs-only water park is the highlight of the summer for a lot of our guests. Want your dog to try it? Get in touch and we'll set up a first session.
